LAVA | Burning Bridges creates raw, haunting dance productions in which themes of courage, perseverance, compassion and regret are the guiding principles. Mentally and physically strong women are of key importance. Furia (Spanish for anger) expresses this theme even more by letting the women themselves speak. In this performance, the dancers and musicians draw heavily from their own sources of anger, deepening the above theme with an additional personal, recognizable layer. In intimate diary entries and inspired song lyrics, they give free rein to their restrained anger and rage on stage and in the audience.
